PITCHER RULES

  • For the 1st half of the season (5 games), coaches will pitch up to 5 pitches per batter. The coach must pitch from the 35 feet rubber mound. If the batter fails to put the ball in play, it is considered a strikeout, unless the 5th pitch is a foul ball. The at-bat will continue until the batter either puts the ball in play or fails to make contact. If a batted ball hits the coach, the ball is dead and that pitch is not counted as one of the 5 pitches. The child playing the pitcher position must have one foot inside of the circle when the ball crosses the plate.

  • For the second half of the season (5 games) and for the tournament kids will pitch with coaches coming in to pitch once a pitcher gets 4 balls on the batter. A coach will pitch to their own team. If a batter is hit by a coach pitch, they do not automatically get their base. The coach will be allowed to pitch only 3 pitches – if the batter does not hit the ball in those 3 pitches, the batter is out. If the 3rd ball is a foul ball, the batter will continue to bat until they strike out or get caught looking. No walks.

The pitching rubber will be thirty-five (35) feet from home plate.
Pitcher is limited to 4 innings / game.
Wild Pitch: Any pitcher that hits 4 batters will be removed from pitching for the remainder of that game.
HP: If player gets HP they get first. The player must make an attempt to get out of the way. Also, a ball that hits the ground first is a dead ball, not HP.

Circle Rule: A play will be considered complete when the ball is attempted to be thrown back to the pitcher to end the play. If the pitcher misses the catch, the play is still over. Any runner not over halfway to the next base when a play is completed must return to the prior base.

***********************************************************************

This is a youth (minor) league. This is not the World Series. Please keep this in mind. This is a learning league. The umpire will have control of the game/players/coaches/ and parents. Please show respect!! If there is an issue with anybody, the umpire has the right to calm that person. If this does not work they will come to the coach. If it is still out of hand the said person will be ejected. Have fun and play ball.
